WANG, Jiang

Chairman

Jiang Wang is the Chairman of Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance Hong Kong Foundation, Mizuho Financial Group Professor at Sloan School of Management, MIT, and Senior Advisory Visiting Professor at Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF). His research is mainly in asset pricing, investment and risk management, market liquidity and stability, international finance, financial innovation and financial engineering, and Chinese capital market. He has published extensively in leading academic journals. He is the recipient of the Smith Breeden Prize, the FAME Research Prize, the Leo Melamed Prize, the Batterymarch Fellowship, China Economics Prize, among other scholarly awards. He has served on the editorial boards of the Journal of Financial Markets, Operations Research, Quantitative Finance, Review of the Financial Studies and other professional journals.  

Professor Wang has served as a member of the Financial Advisory Roundtable and resident scholar of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the International Advisory Council of China Securities Regulatory Commission, the Economic Advisory Board of Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc., the Academic Advisory Board of FTSE and the Academic Advisory Board of Moody’s.  He has also served as a director of the American Finance Association and the Western Finance Association, and the Director of China Finance Research Center at Tsinghua University.  He was the President of the Western Finance Association (2017-2018).

CHENG, Shijun

Director

Dr. Shijun Cheng is the Director of Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance Hong Kong Foundation, Executive Dean and Professor of Accounting at the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance. He earned his D.Eng. in Industrial Management Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and his Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Pittsburgh. Previously he was on the faculty of the Stephen M. Ross School of Business, University of Michigan, and the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland (with tenure), and was the Dean of the School of Management, Jinan University, Guangzhou.

Dr. Cheng focuses his research on corporate governance, ownership structure, compensation and incentives, and managerial accounting. His research has been published in top academic journals such as The Accounting ReviewContemporary Accounting ResearchReview of Financial Studies, and Journal of Financial Economics. He serves or has served on the editorial boards of Contemporary Accounting Research and China Journal of Accounting Research, and on the first academic committee of China Industrial Economics.

TAN, Henry

Director

 Dr. Chan is currently the Director of Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance Hong Kong Foundation, Executive Director, Vice Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Hai Tiandi Panda Travel Group Limited. With over 30 years of business experience in the PRC, Hong Kong and the Western Pacific region, Dr. Chan understands the local market and operating environment and has established extensive relationships. He started his family’s shipping and trading business in Guam in the early 1970s and has expanded into various industries including leisure travel, retail, fishing, air transportation, international shipping, logistics, ground handling and airport services, petroleum, insurance, healthcare, real estate, as well as consumer goods wholesaling and distribution in Guam, Saipan, Palau, Micronesia and the Marshall Islands. 

Dr. Chan is a dedicated community leader and is currently the President of the Hong Kong Textile Council. Dr. Chan is a deputy to the 13th Hong Kong National People’s Congress, an honorary trustee of Peking University and a director of the Board of Directors of Overseas Chinese University. Dr. Chan was the Chairman of Po Leung Kuk from 2004 to 2005 and was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star by the Hong Kong SAR Government in November 2005 and appointed Justice of the Peace in July 2008 respectively. Dr. Chan has been a member of the Election Committee of Hong Kong since December 2006 and has been the Permanent Honorary President of the Textile Institute of Hong Kong since 2009. He is also a member of the Fujian Provincial Committee of the Ninth to Eleventh Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.

LUO, Xuan

Secretary of the Foundation

Mr. Luo Xuan is currently the secretary of the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance Hong Kong Foundation, associate dean of Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance. Mr. Luo Xuan has worked in two famous business schools in China – China Europe International Business School and Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business.

Mr. Luo Xuan has rich experience in business school management and was responsible for the management of major clients during his 5 years of work in China Europe Business School, and participated in the design and implementation of training programs for many Fortune 500 multinational enterprises and famous local Chinese enterprises. During his 10 years at CKGSB, as Assistant Dean, he was in charge of the EMBA program, executive education program and alumni affairs of the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB). Under his leadership, CKGSB’s EMBA program and executive education program have continued to lead the field of business schools in China. At the same time, Mr. Luo Xuan has extraordinary pioneering consciousness and innovative spirit, and his hands have given birth to many products that are considered to be leading in the industry, such as the CEO Program of Chinese Enterprises, the Diploma Program of Hospital Management, and the Diploma Program of Cultural and Creative Management, and so on.
